Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief
by SecretSlaveClass inif a thread has been made about this i apologize.. if anyone has not seen the latest hbo documentary release, "going clear: scientology and the prison of belief" i cannot recommend highly enough that you watch it.
as the majority of us here are either survivors of or still trapped in a cult ourselves, this documentary will most certainly intrigue you.
it's the most in-depth and extensively researched documentary on scientology ever and features interviews with ex-scientologists who were right at the top until they fell foul of their megalomaniacal, paranoid chairman of the board, david miscavige.. i have read some of l. ron hubbard's books out of curiosity and outright dismissed them as utter nonsense.

It just shows that no matter how ridiculous or outlandish the beliefs and practices there will be someone, somewhere that will believe it,
Where do this people come from????? How does society even function with these people that are swayed to believe anything.
And if you give some people power it is a very, very dangerous thing.
That's how Hitler gained power. You get a crazy guy to convince a large group of people that can be swayed to believe anything and then we have a problem. Then the people that can think and reason, have hard time trying to get rid of him and his followers. In the end, a lot of causalities.

I went down in the first Round!
by John Aquila inthere is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.
i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.
i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

Omg I totally want to learn how to dance like that!!!Hey Faye, when I finally stepped down as an elder several congregations got into this dance craze. We all started taking Tango dancing lessons. Then we started having covert dancing get to-gethers. In time we started taking lessons in Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Salsa dancing.Then our get to-gethers started escalating into a mixture of our own creation. Then we started having like competition to see who had the best created dance. Finally one young sister and two brothers went above and beyond and copied the last dance in the movie, "Take the Lead" (Second video) and the elders found out and we were done.Then all talks started at the Kingdom Hall that dancing is "The Devil"You know, those are one of the fun times I had while in the WT. It was a blast.Salsa, Samba, Rumba and Cha Cha and started having covert dancing competition. After about a year we got caught and the talks started in the Kingdom Hall that dancing is the DEVIL. But it was fun for about a year. -

When i was a jw I really valued telling the truth and being an honest person.When I was a JW I had a framework of good morals because I was in fear of an invisible God that would kill me if I stepped out of line.
But when I finally left, I became free from being judge by an ancient God who was over ancient people in an ancient culture.
Nevertheless I still have a judge that I have to answer to, and that is the living people whose lives are directly affected by my actions and whose actions directly affect my life.
So I have tried to develop a moral system that is neither dogmatically absolute nor irrationally relative. My morality now is more of a tolerant ethic. So we should try to live and love and learn to temper our conduct and temptations and do the right thing.
If your BF is not willing to trust you and work together with you to bring out the best in you as a human being,---- is he the type of person that you want to be with 30 years down the road?
If instead of helping you grow to be the best you can be as a person, and your BF literally brings out the worst in you, then your life is going to be one big struggle?
Who you decide to allow too take a part of your life will affect the person you will eventually become.
You have to set the rules on what is acceptable to your feelings and makeup. You have to decide what makes you happy. If your BF loves you, he will work with you. But if he doesn’t want to work with you, then you have a decision to make.

people in the spanish are more socialists & many don't want to jepordize their social friends so they ignore anything negative, we have gatherings every weekend everyone is always invitedHa Ha that is so true OW. There was always a gathering of some sort every single weekend. And I'm talking Salsa dancing, Cumbia dancing and lots of drinking. Of course every other weekend someone was getting in trouble with some guy or gal.
But would believe even that has changed? The WT is even breaking up cultures.

He was belly-aching about the whole trip as every commercial movie they attempted to play some JW with a weak conscious pointed out something in the movies that might have been a cause for stumbling and forced their opinions on everyone in the group.
Ha Ha, never go on a trip with a bunch of witnesses especially pioneers

Has anyone ever spent time watching Latino t.v.?
In my area the idea is still the romantic muscular He-man or He-mans that come and fight for the girl and the winner takes the girl and rides into the sunset and lives happily ever after. Actually in the last hall I attended, I switch to the Spanish before I faded and the Spanish brothers and sisters did look like this;
